SPARK Academy

Elementary School

• SPARK Academy opened in August 2009 with 100 kindergarten students and adds one grade level each year until becoming a 500-student K-4 elementary school. Until SPARK Academy opened, TEAM Schools followed the original KIPP model of starting students off in fifth grade, but with over 50% of students entering fifth grade on a third grade reading level or below, we had to reach them sooner.

THRIVE Academy

Elementary School

• THRIVE Academy is set to open in the 2012-13 school year serving a class of 100 kindergarteners. It will be in its founding year, eventually expanding to fourth grade. THRIVE Academy represents our halfway mark in our expansion plan. Once fully expanded, it will become the second feeder school to our middle schools.

TEAM Academy

Middle School

• Founded in 2002, TEAM Academy is the flagship of TEAM Schools. 380 students in grades 5-8, TEAM is committed to ensuring that every student develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in college and beyond.

 Rise Academy

Middle School

• Rise Academy is the second of two middle schools in the TEAM Schools network. Since opening in August of 2006, the school has grown to 380 students in grades 5-8. Rise Academy teachers are truly committed to teamwork. Most of the classes at Rise are co-taught, and each grade team and department team meets each week to problem solve and share best practices.

Newark Collegiate Academy

High School

• Newark Collegiate Academy (NCA) opened in August 2007 and currently serves 440 students in grades 9-12. It will ultimately serve over 600 students, mostly matriculating from TEAM’s middle schools, Rise and TEAM Academies.

Teachers are required to:

·       Believe deeply in the mission and values of TEAM and subscribe to KIPP’s Five Pillars (High Expectations, Choice and Commitment, More Time, Power to Lead, Focus on Results)

·       Hold high expectations for each student

·       Possess a strong knowledge of content area

·       Demonstrate strong pedagogy

·       Implement the school-wide student management policies within classrooms and everywhere on campus

·       Exhibit positive rapport with students

·       Create and foster a positive learning environment

·       Establish and maintain strong communication lines with all parents

·       Be available for Open Houses, Parent-Teacher Conferences and other events involving parents

·       Assist in development of curriculum standards and mapping Serve on school committees as needed

·       Perform clerical duties, as required, relating to textbooks, instructional supplies, student reports and records, attendance reports, etc.

·       Remain on call in the evenings (via school cell phone) to provide student support

Position Details:
Position Summary: The Cox Media Manager of Finance will be responsible for financial reporting & analysis, performance measurement, and trend analysis for the CMI Las Vegas business. Reviews and provides feedback on corporate built budgets & forecasts. The position will also work closely and support the VP Cox Media to provide financial reporting and analysis needs.

Primary Responsibilities/Tasks – Essential Functions
- Responsible for financial support, financial reporting, trend analysis and contract audits for CMI Las Vegas.
- Review and analyze corporate built budget and forecasts and provide feed back to local and corporate leadership on risks and opportunities in proposed plan.
- Supports the VP Cox Media and CMI leadership on sales performance measures, budget variance analysis, ROI analysis on potential sales, and relevant performance measures (customer, financial, internal process and employee).
- Monitors and assists with CMI capital spending requirements, including interfacing with residential CapEx team on all new projects and developing projected CapEx spending.
- Develops action plans with appropriate functional owners to respond to negative financial trends or to leverage opportunities.
- Reviews monthly financial results and prepares monthly reports for corporate and local leaders, including monthly reviews with Director of Finance and VP Cox Media related to performance.
- Reviews and approves all significant billing adjustments.
- Tracks Business Development Consultant accounts.
- Leads and develops direct reports to continually improve processes and meet financial and operational goals.

Environment/Working Conditions:
All work is performed in a climate-controlled environment. Most work will be done in a designated office; however walking throughout the building will be required. Additional requirements include, sitting for extended periods of time working on a computer.
